Hi I’m Lisa and I moved to France in 2010 with my family. We moved to rural France to live a simpler, more sustainable life and to enjoy everything the French countryside offers.
I have always had a deep connection with the countryside and as an earth sign am happiest outside in nature. My connection with nature and natural materials became my career for 29 years as a florist. France is a popular wedding destination for international couples, who wish to marry in the many stunning Chateaux dotted around the france. I wanted to be a part of the amazing wedding industry in my area and used my creativity and years of experience to build a successful wedding and event florist business.
The year everything changed – 2017
The downside to the success of my business was the stress and physical strain on my body, which got worse with each season. Eventually, a herniated disc in my lower back made work as a wedding florist very painful and difficult. My injury was largely caused by emotional and physical stress and my inability at that time to recognise that there was a problem.
The new beginning
At the start of my back injury prescription medication helped me with my pain but I quickly realised that I didn’t want to continue my life relying on pills to get through my days and nights. I started a regime of walking and restorative yoga and made dietary changes to try and help my physical body heal itself.
While recovering from my injury I realised that In order to get fully well I needed to reconnect with my inner self using some of the tools I already had. In 2009 while still in the UK I trained as a Reiki Master teacher and Crystal therapist and at that time had meditated regularly, so I began to use all of these practices to help me heal my emotion and spiritual self.
The Peacock Garden was born
During my rehabilitation I began noticing how many others were suffering with injuries and illnesses that were potentially rooted deeper than their physical pain. I realised for my own healing that its important to look at our health in a holistic way , using different tools and methods to heal our emotional, physical and spiritual bodies. Meditation, Restorative and Yin yoga has become a massive part of my healing and daily life, so it was an easy decision to begin training with my amazing yoga teacher to become a healing yoga teacher myself.
My mission for the future is to share my knowledge and experiences with others, showing how to create a holistic healing routine which works for them, teaching people how to listen and re-connect with their bodies natural healing power for a happier and more connected life.
